Cubicle Decorations: Postcards

From pages 13-14 of "The Cubicle Survival Guide":

Cubicle Classics

Postcards:

Postcards are an efficient means of letting your bosses and colleagues know that your life extends beyond your job. No matter how much you love your work, a postcard indicates that you appreciate palm trees, beaches, ancient architecture, exotic cultures, and  places on earth that are not your cubicle. That American dream has many manifestations, but the most widespread version concerns people doing what they love for a living. Reality in America, however, is different. Many of us -- yes, twenty-nine-year-old former cheerleader with the handsome husband and convertible BMW -- do not like our jobs. Subtly expressing the sentiment I'd rather be in a Corona commercial is a manifestation of normalcy and even stoicism. People respect your perspective, because they live and work with the same feelings.
